Been helping twin1 move home this last week, and driving DS to college, did 600miles, so the budget is well and truely blown. I have been through some rough times and had to call the police today after nuisance calls and death threats. My nerves are shattered.
I have put the hot water on for a bath, to go and relax. Blows the electric budget doing it during the day, but I am so tense with stress, I need to use all the relaxing methods that I have at my disposal. (no wine to sip though!).
Anyway, realised that we will be gettin part 4, and was wondering if it had been started up yet?
Re the jewellry, its beautiful. I echo everyone on this, and Sophiesmum, we have a tallented lot, all hiding hidden talents, that are now coming to the fore as we all look to live within our means, and to make do, mend, recycle and create.
I have hardly done my sewing this week, but hope after this mess has blown over I will re do the basics of frugality, and the joys of trying to live more simply.
Time to start to run the first part of the bath. Have to run the hot, leave it to reheat, and then top up, as there isnt enough water to even 1/3 fill the bath.
This is time consuming so I dont do it as often as I would like.(And expensive). When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
The pendant is lovely Taka the sort of thing my sister would love if you ever start taking orders let us know;)
Cheryl good luck with the job as i recall the staff there get well paid and promotion prospects are great too although ours are a happy lot you can tell they are always under pressure.

Hi gang,
I am in the hotel, will be here for 2 nights. I am off to Bath tomorrow, it is a lovely place that I have always wanted to visit, unfortunately, I will not see the bits of it that I would like to.
Then I'll be away home 1st thing on Thursday morning. It took me 5 and a half hours to get here today. Good and not so good today:
I got a payrise.:D
I didn't get the full rise I wanted.
My boss is leaving. (he is the best of a bad bunch).
The new boss I am getting is . Me and the other girl keep out of touch with her as much as we can, defo a big incentive to look for something else.
At least I got something, but I will keep pushing for more, I think I work hard enough for it.
Mooloo, I hope you are okay, keep your chin up.
Hugs to anyone else that needs one. Will check in later. xx0 -
Good morning to my talented bunch of virtual friends, neighbours and fellow frugalites
Mooloo, I hope your problems get resolved soon or we may need to consider sending in Skint Lynne 'tae sort them a' oot Glesga fashion!'
Taka, not sure why you think nobody is interested in home based handicraft work of any description on here, we all live for it. You should be proud of your own abilities. Some of our LETS members make jewellery and hand paints glass. They bring a selection along to the monthly meetings and it sells like hot cakes! They charge enough cash to cover basic costs and the rest in our local currency - they sold loads last month!
Lingo, hoping you're beginning to feel better today so you can shake off the worst of it for the weekend.
This week is the Scottish book town annual festival, so we'll probably take a trip over to Wigtown on Saturday in the hope that the market is also on for some bargains.
I can't believe that's us up to the last day of part 3. Part 4 will be started today at some point and I'll add the link in here and on post 1 so nobody gets lost. The day here is gloomy and wet but the cockerels have been crowing since BEFORE dawn! I let them all out around 7am, as usual, then took advantage of the kitchen being empty and got around to baking the sponges using the duck eggs. It wasn't until I had all the mix ready to pour into the tins that I remembered I'd had to discard the old tins! Arg! As a result, I had to fit enough mix for 2 large sponges into little cake cases squashed onto one tray (my oven is tiny). They have spread out a bit and looked more like one giant sponge once cooked but peeled apart no problem. :rotfl: I just HAD to eat one with my cup of tea. Breakfast sponge anyone? They taste good even if they do look a little misshapen.
Today's 'object of the day' is to pass my Food Hygiene Certificate so I can add that to my Health & Safety Certificate. If people are going to want to trade for my home cooking then I want a certificate that says I'm safe at home in the kitchen. :rotfl: Besides, I am still saving my usual £1.35 per day from quitting smoking; it all got spent for DD's wedding but that was 25 days ago, so I now have £33.75 burning a hole in my pocket. The course exam fee is only £28.75 so I'll have some change left. :T:j
Catch you all later when I start the new 'part 4' thread - the final countdown to 2010 has almost begun! :eek:I reserve the right not to spend.
The less I spend, the more I can afford.
