Oh WOW!!! Doesn't seem 2 minutes since Daisy arrived in the land of Frugaldom !!!!
Glad to hear your DH is being kept busy :T And that you've managed to come to a decision about your job tooEnjoy Daisy while you can, as they grow up muuuuuuuch too fast

Good morning frugal friends
Loopylou that is brilliant news about DH with his constant work, your final decision to stay home and the new car. But how quickly is baby Daisy growing? I'll bet she's just at that wobbly, 'I WILL' manage to sit here all by myself even if I topple over a dozen times' stage. :rotfl:I quite liked that stage - loads of noise and chatter but not quite at the stage of disappearing the minute your back is turned.
Frugal holiday research is slow! I've found various flights from as little as 99p :T each way up to £9.99 each way, but the charges the likes of Ryana!r add amount to £40 per person! (Quite hilarious to be quibbling about £40 when discussing flying to another country when I think my flights in 1983 cost hundreds! :rotfl:) However, they'll waive the £10 card transaction fee if I use Visa Electron, which I don't have. BUT... I can buy one of those preloaded ones from post office for £3 - an instant saving of £7, so the fees drop to £33 + flight cost. I have already ordered my FREEEuropean Health Insurance Card online and the post office does single Euro trip insurance for £5.50 (I can get 15% cashback on that by purchasing via the TCB site and paying using my cashback CC) The biggest stumbling block is accommodation, as even some of the hostels want £25 per night! If anyone has a holiday home or chalet we could borrow, let me know :rotfl:

Ald! offers - does anyone else get the Ald! offers newsletter? Thursday's offers included this but they don't seem to have them in our local branch. I thought it would have been an ideal saving on hot water rather than have to switch on the immersion heater or boil multiple kettles for dish washing. Has anyone seen any of these anywhere?I reserve the right not to spend.

some of the catering companys sell them nyk but they are not really economical as it is basically a giant kettle that turns on evry now and then to keep the water warm (a bit like the immersion)

just a quickie - couldn't read and run. SM - I'm think of you too, so sorry about your news, no easier I am sure even with the forewarning. Lots of love xxxx
Just back from my friend's funeral yesterday and feeling a little fragile. Beautiful service, couldn't have been better, but loss brings up all sorts of feelings. I'm fine though and just accept this is all ok to feel this give myself time to process all the thoughts and feelings, and I know this isn't a patch on what SM is going through and others wo have had bereaveents closer to home
Back laters to catch up properly on everyone's news.I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once0 -
Yes grandma dishcloth cotton ....done another one since they are addictive also started a scarf which was going to be a gift but i think willend up coming on my birthday trip
Just back from the show where i won 3 firsts (jam, plum loaf and a scenic picture) and my youngest won 3 firsts and 2 seconds for various things including largest sunflower head for plants he grew from seed himself
BB it is quite normal to have these feelings after a loss especially when it's people you are so fond of take comfort in the fact you were lucky enough to have such a dear friend whom you will miss so much and have a hug from me

Nipped out this morning for milk (98p) and also decided I'd best get some bread (47p)
Ended up spending £9.06  , but this netted me goods worth £24.99 :T
Best deal of the day was boxes of Frvbes from C00p Whoopsie section - ticket price of £2.29/box, but vastly reduced (unusually so for time I was in there) to 40p/box...... so am now in the process of finding freezer space for the contents of at least 5 of the 6 boxes :rolleyes2 My son (who's 18) wasn't heard to complain much about the purchase, but it was done with my GDs in mind - I'm sure they'll be much appreciated as part of their after school snacksCheryl0 -
Evening everyone.
Well, I'm all packed for tomorrow, apart from the things I need to use this evening/in the morning. Getting quite nervous now, I hope the people I'm going to live with are nice, otherwise I don't know what I'll do
Another NSD for me today, but apart from that I've not got anything exciting to say. I am hoping that this week isn't going to be too expensive, but I have no idea of knowing really.
Hope everyone is doing okay this evening.

Hi all,
I have been given a very important job - food shopping for my family. My mum is still not 100%, so she's not fit to go to the shops..............which lets me do a mini grocery challenge. I had a conversation with her tonight, talking about the price of shopping. I said to her, do you think you spend £1000 on shopping per month? She said, most probably more than that, but I can't really afford it........... at last, maybe she is realising.
They spend a fortune of fizzy juice, I said that if they want to drink it, then that's fine, they can buy it themselves.
I have been looking at the grocery challenge today and have got a lot of good tips. She has given me £100 for the week to feed 6 of us and wee sam, who usually gets the same as what we are having. I think that's plenty and I am hoping for some change.
My dad is delighted, I don't know about the rest of them, my younger brother looked a bit scared as he knows I don't let him away with things.
I'll let you all know how it goes.
Well done shaz and wee fella on the show prizes and good luck for tomorrow sf, you will be fine, I'm sure your housemates will be fine and they are lucky to have such a nice person sharing with them.
Will check in later. xx0
