Did you ask why they had closed the case?

Sorry that you are upset and feel you have wasted 12yrs, I'm not sure if the original post and the further reply is a wind up.
If the guy turned up to court and was not working , then at that time none or minimal child support is due. There maybe more to the episode than we know or need to know, as I suspect the agency would pursue the claim if they thought it would be valid and succesful :o

If the NRP works for a company ie is not self employed, then they can still collect the debt via a DEO - they don't need a court order. Was he self employed?

As said in the earlier reply There maybe more to the episode than we know or need to know, as I suspect the agency would pursue the claim if they thought it would be valid and succesful :o. , if it was so easy to avoid paying, there would be many many more NRPs avoiding paying there dues. I suspect France and many Western European EU countries have a REMO agreement, so the NRP moving to France would have little effect on his responsibilities. Obviously if it is not a wind up then I stand corrected, I won't just beleive any and everything that is written without question.

I'm sure there are plenty, I must be too honest :o, if after the CSA start a certain level of sanctions I can just turn up at court and claim I'm not working and the prosecution just accept my word seems all too easy, now I feel like I'm missing out , I always fancied life in Dusseldorf, however I don't think an escape out of contribution is that straight forward, I can sign up to time off work and reduce my pay to 25% of what it is, I doubt my csa payments would be re-assesed to reflect the new circumstance

The problem really lies with the CSA believing all the lies that are spouted by those who choose to do so. That is what lets off all the self employed ones who choose not to pay.
