Car insurance: Comprehensive cheaper than TPFF?

I've been looking for quotes on a car that I may be given soon and for some reason the cheapest companies seem to want me to pay around £200 extra for TPFF. Making comprehensive the only real option.
Any reason for this?
While I'm here do any sites do cash-back on Direct Line? As they seem to be cheapest for me.

If you are finding comp. cheaper than tp, (but would be happy with tp), then reduce the premium by going for a massive excess (some offer £1000 or more).
From time to time DL do use quidco.0 -
Delta I had exactly the same thing when I was looking to insure my previous car, a friend who worked in insurance said its due to a combination of age of the car, age of driver (in my case early 20's) and general hassle involved with sorting claims from old cars and young drivers. But admitted it makes absolutely no sense whatsoever! It’s not worth doing something unless someone, somewhere, would much rather you weren’t doing it.
