I made an online payment from my Barclays current account to my HSBC credit card on 31st of March and to date it's still not been credited on my HSBC account, BUT the direct debit taken on the the 1st (to and from the same accounts) has cleared nearly 2 days go!! I done the exact same thing last month and all was fine.... I'm not sure who I need to contact first.. HSBC or Barclays!!!

Phone or visit the Barclays personal banker and they will check your transactions for you.
You may find you never actually sent it.
In Barclays online account page just beform sending a payment and before you click on the confirm tab it does look like your transaction has gone.
At this point if you are distracted by printing the page for example and then close the page you will not have sent it anywhere but you will have a copy of the page and a belief that the transaction has taken place.
Double check your account and see if you still have the amount in your account if not speak with Barclays and they will trace the transaction if it has been sent.

HSBC may not show payments until they have 'cleared' (up to 5 working days, even in this age of computers.) - other institutions (ICICI are an example) where they show payments when received, but not yet cleared.

If you want to contact someone first, I'd suggest HSBC. (And ask them to confirm what I've suggested above)
    Conjugating the verb 'to be":
-o I am humble -o You are attention seeking -o She is Nadine Dorries
