barclays verified by visa help

been on hold to their 0870 helpline for 1 hour10 mins!! (then my battery on the cordless went dead):mad::mad:

i opened a barclays current account last week, got the visa debit card pin etc, can use the card fine in shops, but went to order online and it went through to the Verified by visa thing, so i registered but it says my details are incorrect and ive been suspended and to ring the 0870 number
ive entered the CORRECT details!! arghhhhhhhhh
ive used V by V with lloyds TSB so I know how it works0 -

I guess about £7 but I hope I'm wrong. It is shocking how these companies keep you hanging on the phone to make even more money. Promise me you'll never do it again

Is it Maestro by any chance. Just today I was trying to pay using a Natwest debit card (Maestro) - no idea why verified by visa came up but when I tried to registered - the correct card number and everything I got the same message and a 0870 number to call. :mad:0 -

its a barclays connect 'visa debit' card.
well the first time i rang i was on hold for 5 mins then had a message saying ' sorry the department has been evacuated due to an emergency situation, please call back later'
obviously someone had got very pee'd off for being on hold for hours:mad:0 -
well ive just rang barclays telephone banking, they asked 2 security Q's mothers maiden name and DOB - i failed security!
ive got to go to my branch tomorrow with 2 forms of ID to get it unlocked/unblocked
Since i opened the account last week i think they have put my DOB in wrong! because they dont ask for mothers maiden name on V by V .0
