Hot on the heels of MW2, the finishing touches are being put on MW3!

My tuppence worth about the "18 rated rated for the under-18s" debate; it's not the games that make the kids violent/desensitized/<add your own terrifying personality trait here>, it's the kids. I'm 25, my folks are both very responsible, and I get on with them both very well. They bought me the first Mortal kombat game (rated 15) when I was 11, and the first Grand Theft Auto (rated 18) when I was about 13 or 14. Have I ever ripped someones head off? No. Have I ever gunned someone down for kicks? No. Have I ever considered this? No. I'm not pointing blame anywhere, all I'm saying that blaming games is a copout, with the few unfortunate cases that do get reported in the media jump to games as a scapegoat. If you want to do,then fine, but then you might as well go back and blame Tetris for all the kids who drop bricks off motorway bridges, and blame Pacman for teeneagers who dance about darkened rooms to repetitive music, munching pills and running away from ghosts...

Ok, yes I'm being silly here, but that's the point. It's too easy to point the finger at games. I'm not a parent, and when I am, I may feel differently about this, I'm just saying that playing a game when younger than the age certificate isn't going to make a kid crazy. I, and probably a lot of people out there and on here, will agree that they turned out fine.

Sorry, I don't want to argue, point is made now, I won't argue with any of you :)

Try eBay for MW2, most seems to be going for around £32 at the moment, which is the same as the shops, but if you time it right, or just wade through the sheer volume of copies, you might get a break and find one for a few quid less. :)
  • ok enough of the bad parent remarks its getting boring now! same thing over and over .................................

is tesco still doing their deal?

  • I'm honestly shocked that some people have nothing better to do than argue about a flippen game. Learn your kids the difference between right and wrong, tell them what IS unacceptable and what isn't. Tell them that things they may see on TV are not always acceptable and they WILL GET IT. Things ARE different nowadays, I wish they wern't, but THEY ARE, accept that things are different and explain it all to them and there shouldn't be a issue, unless YOU make it a big issue!
  • Oh, forgot the important bit, MY O/H paid £32.00 from Amazon!!
  • I heard a rumor that Shipman used to play trauma centre on the wii. Not sure how true it is.

You shouldn't joke, man; Robert Mugabe was a club singer before an addiction to Command & Conquer on the PC.
  • If you have the right games to trade in you can get it for £4.99 at Gamestation.

  • Can anyone confirm if Asda are doing a deal on the bestselling books / dvd's and games? I saw the backend of an advert last night, but wondered if this is on now and if COD would be part of it?
    Thanks
    Hels
