  • While the law doesn't say it's illegal to purchase these games for a child, or let a child play them, there's not much anyone can do.

What does bug me is how irresponsible parents are - certainly the ones I've seen buying it for their kids. Recently I saw a parent in Gamestation with their son, who can't have been more than 10. The dad was asking the lad if he wanted this, that and the other - all rated 18.
Fortunately the lad pointed out he wasn't interested in those kind of games and picked up something like Shrek!

On the other hand, you get the kids who stroll in, pick up the game, hand it to parent and then ask them to buy it for them. The parent looks at the cover, ignores the rating on it and then purchases.

Parents these days will do anything to keep the kids out of the way.
Gone are the days of playing cops and robbers etc. while out on your bikes, or having a kick around....

I actually questioned someone as they came out of a store, having bought their young kid a new console along with Gears of War 2.
The response I got was a laugh followed by "I'm buying it for his grandma" - who was shopping with them and looked as thick as the parent.

Back on the topic - is anywhere selling the 360 version for under 30 still?!

"no-existant" i'll think you'll find it's non-existent!!! You may doubt my parenting skills but in view of the fact my children could spell that correctly I think i've proved my point!!! Still no sign of social services or the police either!!! You make me laugh, how very sad are you.

It seems as if some of 'her' more inflammatory posts have been removed which is a good thing. Maybe the best thing is try not to rise to the bait, however personal the attack?

don't use 'Very' though, it's the rebranding of Littlewoods direct and is entirely different, despite having an almost identical website!)
Absolutely right, never ever use very, they are a joke. I preordered the game in October and STILL haven't received the game, despite it saying the order would be delivered on the 10th, then to have some customer service guy say it would in fact be the 19th (today) - it STILL hasn't come yet!! They seem to be conveniently ignoring my complaints as well...
Oh and I wonder how the customer services 'knew' the game would be with me on the 19th in the 'normal post' unless they hadn't posted it yet...
    AVOID VERY.CO.UK!!!!!!!
    I don't get even...I get odder

    sainsburys are.
  • Many thanks, this thread has helped me understand why this country has a nation of violent, badly behaved youngsters.

Probably the same parents that let little Jonny have a beer 'cause it does him no harm'

Any parent who lets 12 year olds and even younger according to this thread watch 18 rated movies is about as irresponsible as they come. The way they openly brag about it is even more worrying, not one ounce of shame.

The games are rated by the same organisation that rates the movies. It's absolutely no different, THEY ARE letting their kids watch 18 rated films. Mind boggling.
  • Amazon have this now at £32.00 for any over 18s or bad parents :D
  • Does anyone know if Morrisons still have any at £26? Thank you!

No, morrisons is £42.99 now, for 360 anyway.

Cheapest we have found was amazon, £32, using their next day delivery service on a free trial, remember to cancel the free trial though or they charge £49.99 to your card for it after the first month. Game came as promised the day after we ordered it.

gp xx (bad parent of a 17 yr old wanting the game :D )
