You can also freeze a mince base - basically mince and onions that can be used as a starter for so many dishes, cottage pie, lasagne, bolognaise, potato hash (like they make it in Lancashire) as a pie filling....
Similarly freeze stewed fruit eg apples for the base of Eve's pudding, crumbles, fruit pie.
This is especially useful if yours is a small freezer!
I cook extra jacket spuds, scoop out, mash and add grated cheese. Freeze and these can be a snack or a potato side dish.
