How Do I Convert Docs from MS Office 2007 to Win 2000

I have been doing a lot of work at home and forwarding it to my email address at work. We have Microsoft Office 2007 at home but when I send it to my work I get a lot of gobbledegook. I think it might be because we have windows 2000 at work and I'm sending a doc in MS Office 2007. How do I?convert it at work so its as it should be and not all symbols and things. thanks.

Just click the orb in the top left -> save as -> Word 1997 -2003 Document.

Alternatively, download and install the MS compatibility pack onto your work PC, if they'll let you.

I'd go for the save as option in office and save it as a 97 - 2003 doc rather than annoy your IT department by trying to install stuff on your machines. Hopefully if they know what they're doing you don't have local admin to your work box.

Any IT dept worth it's salt would have proactively deployed said file convertor it took me about errrm 5 mins including downloading it to set it up to deploy to over 300 PCs in the building.

Try doing it a company with 5000 pc's getting said software model office tested on various machines and having someone somewhere along the line checking the costings and running an impact analysis on it before signing it off just a day before Office 2012 comes out lol

well yes there is that but bh that patch has been around for so long now...

and for what it's worth that was also then deployed across a further 32 sites via our 100Mb WAN each with over 400 PCs on each site so it's not undoable just has to be a real need there to do it of course.

Of course Office xxxx version coming out is only relevant if you're going to upgrade to it which of course no one is because it means spending money training the workforce and no one ever does something so silly!! ;)
