True but even with paid phone line i have had more problems in my pass 9 years working in IT

Perhaps we need to look at the overall picture first?

What is this other line for faxes you mention? Is it also a BT line? Maybe if we know all your requirements the best solution can be found.

BTW, why not hook up the fax machine to the line you are having problems with faxes on so you can find out where they are from? Chances are it is one rogue fax machine, if you call BT after investigating they may be able to block the number...faxes with auto dial are a huge PIA.
