Homes owner-occupied = 3 (if we count the one I'm buying now.)

Length of stay = 10 years and 21 years.

First house purchase at age 29

Reason for moving from house 1 = larger house & garden.

Reason for moving from house 2 = change of location & lifestyle to match interests + concerns about the future.

How long do I expect to stay in the house I'm buying now?
About 10 years, but longer if I can still cope with the land that comes with it.

I bought my first house aged 27 - would have moved out 5 or 6 years earlier - nearly did in fact - but family circumstances prevented. Lived happily there for 14 years, moved to a detached 5 years ago as the old lady 'joined on' to my semi died and I realised that you can actually hear a lot from next door. Got my current home because it was detached and very conveniently placed in my circumstances; don't plan on moving, unless I move to the coast when I retire, but I really am happy here, so I would be content to stay here until I keel over one day!
