Well I never - another Argos con!

Last week I went online and reserved a vacuum cleaner (an Argos make) at our nearest Argos. I picked it up along with an extra set of paper bags for it. The extra bags were literally half the volume of the one already fitted in the cleaner although it was the correct bags for that machine.

My point is that Argos have consciously sold bags for that model that hold half the volume although there are larger paper ones avalable to them, but only for factory fitting.

Argos then sent me an email asking for a review of the well-performing vacuum cleaner. I wrote it and also came up with some scathing comments about their blatant rip-off.

I checked my review several days later and it's not on their website!

If you want to read any review of an Argos stocked product, be prepared to read only the ones that will encourage you to buy. 'Bad' reviews will not be available to you.

I'm beginning to sound like a stuck record here but where's the con? You made an erroneous presumption as to the capacity of vacuum bags based on the one included with the vacuum cleaner. It doesn't sound like a 'blatant rip-off'. Had the website said 'these bags are the same size as supplied with the vacuum cleaner' and then it turned out they were not then you would have a case. As it is, I don't thing you've badly stung.

Just out of interest: can one buy alternative bags for this vacuum cleaner?

Why could the replacement bags not be the same size as the one fitted? Let's make a guess – because they would sell more replacement bags the smaller they are? Surely not!

No, it's a new model so the generic bag manufacturers haven't caught on to this model yet – I hope they do soon.
