http://www.nationwide-cars.co.uk? Good deals, or a scam?!

I'm looking to purshase a new 'super mini' and came across this website.

http://www.nationwide-cars.co.uk/index.asp

They specialise in Fiat, Renault and Vauxhall.

I'm interested in the clio, punto and corsa.

They seem to offer extremely good deals, which are a lot cheaper than my local dealer.

However I have a niggling feeling that it might not be all it seems?!

Can anyone shed any light for me please!

:D

Nothing fishy at all, given the airfields full of unsold vehicles it's hardly surprising that good discounts are available. BUT, these cars will most likely all be pre-registered by the manufacturer or their main dealers, you will officially be the second owner. Its a common ploy to artificially boost official sales figures. If you are OK with this I don't see a problem. Hope this helps

    Thanks for your reply :)

The cars all seem to be ordered specifically to what i want, for example i can add extras for an extra cost.

I would have thought that this means that they don't have the cars at the moment, and that they are ordered to make?
  • Just looked at their terms & conditions, says the car will not be registered in your name and you're not allowed to put it in your name until 6 months after purchase. I would call them and get clarification on this. Again I don't see this as a major problem, the registered keeper (them) and the legal owner (you) can be different, but your insurance company may charge a higher premium if you are not the registered keeper?
