Hi, I am new to this site and to posting about home improvements so forgive me if i do not include enough info.

My hubby and I are just completing the purchase of our first home (2 bedroom). As the title suggest it needs a bit of work. Structurally it is fine however it lacks a central heating system and need completly new electrics. We are thinking of having a combi boiler installed with plastic pipes, what your views of plastic (specifically hep2o) pipes? (I know that you need to have copper from the boiler for about a meter before you attach the plastic) We do not have lots of money but i do want to make sure we have a good system installed. We will also be replacing everything including the cold water pipes, should we use plastic for these as well?
I would appreciate any helpfully comments or experiences people could pass on.
Thanks very much

Good afternoon: My OH (plumbing and heating for 30+ years) uses copper fittings and pipe with very rare exceptions (eg. accessibility issues) for the reasons detailed here(and to provide some balance, here is the other side)...you will find opinions vary from professional plumber to professional plumber, DIYer to DIYer so no consensus (other than using plastic requires fewer skills;)).

One other consideration, using non-conductive plastic pipe makes for an inherently safer electrical installation.
