Was a Card Tart but they don't want me back

Mr.Mean
I too heard about this yesterday (I'm on bmi's e-mailing list). Thought it looked interesting but the 2% fee to BT is what put me off. Equates to 4% over 6 months and you can't get a lot more than that in a deposit a/c (not to make it worthwhile anyway).
As a stooz, not brilliant, but the free flight (if you can use this to your advantage) may tip the balance.

Giving the cards a rest for a few months but thanks you learn something new every day on MSE. Had an Experian report and some companies I've used in the past, paid up and closed the account are still showing as in use but nothing owing. I rang 2 of them to ask them to update their records and show my code as D for not in use and not owing anything and also put it in writing but nearly lost my will to live after the phone calls, ie. Press 1 for *, Press 2 for * - One company had background music playing while putting me on hold ............"Dont go, please don't go, dont go aw ay ay "- from years ago, think it was the Walker Brothers? or Everly Brothers?ultragain wrote:Well I work for a card company and once you've had the intro offer, you can never have that rate again should you re-apply. I've always questioned this myself, surely holding information like that breaks banking codes or data protection.
Got a wife, girlfriend, or close mate? Get them to apply for the card you want and have you added as an additional.0 -
Clariman wrote:As others have said, you should not have an 'expectation' of getting another offer 6 months later. In fact, MINT (RBS) insist on an 8 month gap before they will consider a customer for a new card offer, so applying after 6 was a waste of a credit search. I am not sure if LTSB have a specific policy on it.
Not sure if it is 'policy' or not, but I closed LTSB Advance card end of feb and applied last friday for Amex Rewards and got it no worries, only 50% of previous credit limit though.Cider Country Solar PV generator: 3.7kWp Enfinity system on unshaded SE (-36deg azimuth) & 45deg roof0
