Hi Everyone
I'm off to buy a new bbq this evening and was wondering if I can put it on the decking or not as a few friends have told me not to.
Cheers

Assuming it's a normal BBQ that stands some way off the ground ( as opposed to one of those little disposable ones in a tray ) then I don't see a problem as long as you're sensible. Potentially you may get spits of fat or coals jumping out of it and making burn marks in the decking, but other than that it shouldn't be dangerous as such. Probably a good idea to put some sort of covering down ( old piece of hardboard or something ) to protect the deck, don't leave it unattended ( you shouldn't do anyway ), and I'd be tempted to move it off the deck when you're done and give the deck a quick sluice down with a hose or bucket, just to make sure there's nothing left smouldering unseen.0
