Nationwide - repeat offers?

Hi everyone,

I have Nationwide c/card (0 balance for over a year - only used when going abroad), M&S c/card that I currently use for slow stoozing (0% runs out beginning of Sept) and MBNA that is for OH's balance transfer (0% runs out Sept).

Now, I will need a balance transfer for the MBNA so I will obviously have search on my credit file once I do that. I didn't want to apply for second card for 0% on purchases straight away to get second search on my file so I was wondering whether anyone ever got some offer on Nationwide credit card once they tried to cancel?

Thanks

Not heard of anyone get a repeat on a Nationwide card.

Better to apply for your new purchase card when there's only a search showing on your report - leave it till later there'll be a search and an amount of available credit.

I am definitely going to pay the 0% purchase card off first and wait couple of weeks before applying for any card.

I just didn't want to apply twice in short space of time.

Does MBNA still do repeat offers? Anyone got one recently?

No decent MBNA repeats reported for a while. Disappointing they used to be stoozers best friend. You can still apply for another MBNA card and move the credit limit across.

Can you? I thought you would have to pick Super Balance transfer for that and I didn't think they still do that..

There's a 4% fee for a SBT now, but yup you can still move credit limits between cards to maximise the "95% of credit limit" you can SBT.

Thank you for that, that could prove very handy knowledge.

However Martin advises that once you have 1 MBNA family card they might give you lower limit on the second application.. :-((

    And 4% is quite high..

They will do. That's why you ask them to move the credit limit from card 1 to card 2 so you end up with a higher (usable) credit limit for a SBT.
