I'm going on holiday to cornwall for two weeks at the beginning of august can i still claim JSA?

and before any daily mail readers go on a rant, the holiday was paid for before I lost my job.

Yes, the jsa rules allow you 2 weeks holiday per year.

    Have a good one!
It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.
  • As lemonjelly says, you are allowed two weeks' holiday in the UK whilst on JSA BUT make sure you let the jobcentre know before you go, as you will need to complete a "Going Away From Home" form.

On this you need to give details about where you are going and who (if anyone) you will be in touch with whilst you're away. You will also need to provide a contact number. You can be treated as actively seeking employment whilst you are away, but you need to remain available - make sure you tick the right boxes to say this on the form or it could potentially cause problems.

Also, you will need to attend the jobcentre on the first working day after you return to sign on for the date you missed by being away - so any benefit due will not be released until you do this.

Hope that helps - have a lovely time!
