Used Exec Car Price Rises

Having switched from a company car scheme I have been watching used Mec E, BMW 5 prices soar over the past 6-9 months... I kept printouts of some I fancied at the start and they are typically 1500-2000 cheaper than the price for similar vehicles now, despite the cars having aged in the meantime!

I have been driving an old Passat a mate lent me and I've just put it through another MOT and will keep driving it rather than be ripped off.

It's getting so crazy that high milers are also demanding a decent price..

Mad!

Maybe it's supply and demand, my husband isn't replacing any of the exec's company cars this year as most of them don't do mega mileage (perks of the job). Plus how can you go buying new Mercs, BMWs, Audis and Lexus when all your agency staff have been laid off.
So perhaps his company is one of many that are keeping hold of their existing cars.

All new and used car prices have risen. At the beginning of the year I was looking at a new Focus ST for £16k from a broker. The price now is around £19k for the same car. It's very much supply and demand. The extended closure of factories over Christmas/New Year cut back on stock.

Car sales were so slow up to spring this year that there is not much around nearly new to buy now and the prices rise.
Weakening pounds sterling causing price rises too which affects whole market.
