Spam E-mails

Hi please can someone help me? I keep getting lots and lots of spam e-mails I have got 107 this morning!!! I am unsubscribing from these as they come in and also blocking sender, but I still keep getting hundreds.

I have Norton security and my Identity secure Phishing protection keeps warning me I am not protected so I have to keep pressing fix problem, but it keeps doing it!!

Can anyone help on these matters please?

You might be making your problem worse by replying to them. Quite often, spammers will send out millions of speculative emails to every email address they come up with. By replying to their mail you are then telling them that the one that came to you went to a live email address. Then, as they know yours is live, they'll target you with loads more...

If using antispamware doesn't help, your best bet is to ignore them.

If you've been spammed that amount you're likely to get loads more and spammers have ways of bypassing spam blockers. It may be easier to start another addy.

It's a pain I know, my father has a habit of giving his email address over to sites when he see's the "you have won a new car (etc)" popup's.
Until we god rid of the email address he was getting nearly 500 emails per day. He now uses hotmail/live and MS does all the filtering for him.

• Is to use the Name field in your email account.
e.g.
name = Martin's Money Tips
email address = MartinsMoneyTips@moneysavingexpert.com
or
Name = Joe Bloggs
email address = jb@gmail.com

When filtering your email, make sure friendly emails are
"where the To line contains people" = "Joe Bloggs"
Any other emails can be further evaluated or moved to junk.

Since nearly all spam does not have your Name in the To field, you can easily filter on this.

Further measures when giving out your email and name to sites is to spell your name differently to your name in the Name field, i.e Joe Bloggs --> Joe Blogs.
That way any spam from them will not be marked as friendly, as they may construct the Name field from your name you gave them.

That works, but when you've got to download 500 emails from your email server before you can even begin to sort them, it's a nitghtmare :( especially on a poor connection :/
