Hi
I recently purchased a leather suite to find that the person was a smoker - should've asked I know!
Like the suite - hate the smell!!
Does anyone know how to remove the smell of cigarette smoke?
Also any recommendations on a good cleaner?
Or something that does both?!!
Any ideas appreciated!

I probably would have thought the main smell would be coming from stuffing in the cushions. You could use something to wash down the leather but may need to put something inside to soak up the smell also.0

When I bought my leather suite (it was hand made) the assistant told us not to buy expensive leather cleaners just use dove soap. Bucket of water to rinse the cloth in, damp cloth rubbed on dove soap, rub it in the leather, clean water on a cloth to rinse, buff up with a soft cloth when dry, smells lovely. My suite is dark browny red analine hide, I did my sons suite but used a damp sponge to apply the dove soap, his suite is white leather and thicker grain than mine (hence the sponge). Lots of my family and friends have used the dove soap advice that came from my upholsterer and have all been pleased with the results.
Please don't try this if you are worried about your leather, but you could try it on an inconspicuous area first. Smells great.
You could also try spraying fabreze from underneath where the cloth bottom is and down any cracks and crevices. Hope this helps.

Baby wipes down every nook and cranny of the sofa. There is probably a couple of ounces of ash down the sides of the thing. You may end up using a whole packet, then if it's still bad, a little orange oil over the top covers a multitude of sins.I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0
