I use OE for my e-mails, generally, however i do have a Hotmail a/c as well.
But when i send an e-mail to my friend, she uses Hotmail, (and of course dosent want to change her normal E-mail address) it 95% of the time it dosent reach her, and the same the other way, her e-mails never reach my OE inbox, its just this one Hotmail address,( no im not on her "Junk Mail" or "Banned" list.)
If i do tests to myself from Hotmail/ To Hotmail, From OE to Hotmail, they work perfectly, it JUST this one address that will not recieve my OE e-mails, and im apparantly the "Only" person who dosent get her E-mails! Help. thanks

Unfortunately I don't use hotmail or OE so I can't be specific. She needs to put your email address in her 'whitelist' or 'trusted senders' list, and you need to do the same with hers. Your problem could be that your ISP is junking her emails to you before they even reach your OE, because hotmail addresses are still a big source of spam. You may need to whitelist her with your ISP. If your ISP offers 'webmail' access then you should be able to do it through there. Hope this helps but post back if it doesn't.0 -
Upgrade to Windows Live Mail which is the step up from Outlook Express which now fully incorporates MSN Hotmail. Microsoft did restrict Hotmail access on OE since 2004!0
-
Trouble with Live Mail is it take ages to log in , has adverts, and means changing all my contacts to another e-mail address. Its also far more "Fiddly" to use.
Cant see anyway to access "Trusted senders lists" on Either.
Thanks anyway0 -
The hotmail account should be upgraded to windows live which can then be used through OE0
-
It has been, but i dont see any way to use it thru OE.0
-
- In Outlook Express, click the Tools menu, and then click Accounts.
- Click Add, and then click Mail.
- Type your name, and then click Next.
- Type your full Windows Live Hotmail e-mail address, and then click Next.
- Enter the following information, and then click Next:
- In the My incoming mail server is a box, click POP3.
- In the Incoming mail (POP3, IMAP, or HTTP) server box, type pop3.live.com.
- In the Outgoing mail (SMTP) server box, type smtp.live.com
- Type the account name and the password for your Windows Live Hotmail account. Clear the Remember password check box unless you're the only person with access to the computer. Make sure that the Log on using Secure Password Authentication (SPA) check box isn't selected.
- Click Next, and then click Finish.
- In the Internet Accounts window, click the Mail tab, click the Windows Live Hotmail account that you added, and then click Properties.
- Click the Advanced tab, and under Server Port Numbers, enter the following information, and then click OK:
- In the Incoming mail (POP3) box, type 995.
- In the Outgoing mail (SMTP) box, type 25.
- Under both Outgoing mail (SMTP) and Incoming mail (POP3), select the This server requires a secure connection (SSL) check box.
- Click Close.
