Virgin Atlantic Miles

I am thinking of applying for a virgin atlantic card to collect miles as I want to fly with them to Washington DC in Sept 2010. My question is, can I use miles I've earned as part payment for a flight? Or do I have to earn enough to pay for the whole flight?
Thanks!
Thanks!

You can do miles plus money.
If you sign up to e-rewards you can get even more miles.

Also note that when you buy Virgin Atlantic flights with Miles, you have to pay a large set of Taxes, Fees and Charges. I recently used 50000 miles on a return to Jo'burg, and they charged me 200 pounds for the ticket.0
