in Credit cards
i recently got married and the food at the reception was unacceptable and we complained to the hotel .that was over 2 weeks ago and they have still not come back with a decent appology and only want to give me and my partner a free meal to compansate .
as the catering could only be done by them and at 1200 pounds a 30 quid meal is way too little for burnt potatoes ,stail sandwiches etc.
my mother paid on her credit card for the deposit £800 as she had 6 months intrest free which has now been paid, but i paid the rest of the balance on my credit card which i pay off every month now its comming up to pay the rest what should i do ?
is the card company joint responsable for the food service?
which card would be liable as 2 were used?
should i inform the card company and not pay the outstanding amount or pay it and give the hotel abit more time?
any advice much appreciated
thanks

Not paying the credit card will give you a different set of problems.
Your complaint is with the quality of the food, not whether you received the food or not, and the value of each meal was less than the £ 100 minimum for section 75 so don't think you can make the card company liable.
I'd escalate things with the hotel making it clear what you'd accept as compensation in response to their offer."A child of five could understand this. Fetch me a child of five." - Groucho Marx0 -
thanks for the reply.
i was woundering as i paid the hotel for a service that was not of a sufficiant standard and it ruined the day for my partner as she saw it as her fault .0
