    Hi
I've just made some strawberry & yoghurt lollipops with my children.

Bash the strawberries, we added some blueberries as we had some. Mixed in some greek yoghurt (I used lowfat) & a little honey to sweeten & they're in the freezer now.

Children enjoyed making them and hopefully they'll enjoy eating them as well !!!

Strawberry smoothies or milkshakes :D mmmmm. I would love to go strawberry picking, but the nearest place to me is 16 miles away and I can't drive :(
D'you know, in 900 years of space and time, I've never met anyone who wasn't important

We went picking strawberrys yesterday - had a nice time, but it was £3.85 per kilo, so quite expensive..I guess when you include all the strawberrys we ate while picking it wasnt such a bad deal after all. :-D
  • We went again yesterday, strawberries had gone down 5p to 80p a pound & there were loads of them. Raspberries were £1.20 a pound but I only needed a few to top up the ones I've grown in the garden. There was an added bonus as the nearby village was having a scarecrow trail & my daughter loved spotting the scarecrows everywhere!
I froze some & we had the rest just with cream. I'll puree the frozen ones & mix with cream then pop in the middle of a victoria sandwich cake yummy :D

At Hints farm near Tamworth i paid £1.60lb last week, alot of crop going to waste as not being picked.

I make a flan with ours. Place mascarpone onto the flan base, top with strawberries and cover in strawberry quick jel. Only have enough left to do this before daughter ravishes the lot.

Took my old mum strawberry picking last week. Lovely weather, great scenery, friendly people, one of life's simple pleasures. Was wearing shorts though and got stung by some stinging nettles... and there might have been something more venomous hiding amongst the plants because I got a huge red eruption of some kind on my ankle. Can't wait to do it again next year though.
