isnt that a bit of a pointless statement to make not knowing the complete ins and outs of their financial situation

we've been lucky in that we have coped ok, but i know many people who have struggled badly. its not always about whats coming in, its usually about commitments to whats going out thats the problem. commitments such as rent, food and bills.

agreed,we're not on mad money (oh has just been made redundant!!) but many struggle on 5x my wage

Can I suggest you let us know a SoA (as on the DFW boards) in other words tell us what IS coming in Now; what's going out NOW and what, and when the expected drop will be then people can advise you properly on where to cut down and make savings.

    Congratulations BTW!

I COULD afford to resubscribe now but I won't ***stamps foot*** as there are other things I prefer to do with my hard earned!

Hi, Congratulations! We sort of landed up in the same boat and literally cut back on everything. We had to cut back considerably to allow for me to be at home with our 5 year old and 1 year old. We cut back on things like the TV package - no point having a full subscription when you can only watch one channel at a time or in our case we rarely had time, changed our electricity and gas providers, cancelled the gym membership, changed mobile phone providers. If you could write down exactly what your outgoings on - you will see and be quite surprised what you could do away with or cut down on. It takes some getting used to but does lift the burden a little. Hope it all sorts itself out by the time the baby comes along. All the best.

I would be looking at reducing outgoings like sty tv etc where possible, anything thats a luxury can go, and sell all your old stuff on ebay!

Good advice or at a Carboot. No need to hang onto clutter....
