Hi everyone.
I want to transfer some photos onto a memory stick. I have plugged it into my laptop and it is lighting up but when I try and save onto my memory stick it does not show up as an option. When I go onto my computer screen it shows C drive and D drive and where it says drives with removable storage it just shows the disc drive. can anyone help using easy to understand intructions please. I have checked the devices and it says that the usb is working so I am stuck

What operating system do you have? Windows 98 or earlier would require drivers installed0

Have you been able to check the USB stick is working on another machine?0

I have windows vista0

It is a brand new stick0

Maybe try a restart and boot with the USB stick out then try plugging it in once Windows Vista has fully booted, also try different USB ports if possible.
Edit
You may have been unlucky and purchased a new USB stick thats faulty.0
