Options
Hi

I am getting this message while trying to use WPA for internet security.
The wireless router is the Belkin F5d7633uk4A model.

Rekey Interval (seconds) :
Raidus Server :0.0.0.0
Raidus Port : 1812
Raidus Key :
Pre Shared Key (PSK) :
WPA (with server) Advanced setting-wireless Protected.

Access using a server to distribute keys to the client: This option requires that a raidus server is running on the network. more info

Can anyone please help me to sort this out?

Cheers

SAM

In the router's web configuration screen, choose 'WPA-PSK (no server)'.

Is there any more options other than WPA to secure the laptop from hackers.

Now that you have got it working, get yourself a good long hex password from here and you should be secure enough using WPA-PSK without doing anything else like hiding SSID's and only allowing certain MAC address's, which don't actually make it any more secure!

Thanks expresso for your valuable advice, One last question
Where do I type in this password and do I need to remember this password for any future use?

You use the generated password as your WPA Pre Shared Key and if you save it to a notepad file, you can then cut and paste it into the WPA pre shared key passphrase field on your router and the other devices that you want to connect to it.

You should have already changed the password used to log in at the default LAN address of your router i.e. http://192.168.0.1 to one of your own choice and also changed the SSID to something different to the default, that does not identify you.

    ;)

Enable MAC address filtering. This is where only computers whose MAC address is known to the router are allowed to connect to it and therefore use your internet connection.

    Change the default SSID name.

    Disable broadcast of SSID name.

All these settings are made on the router's configuration screens.

And make very little difference to security once you've got WPA set-up.
