Hey Daisy, hopefully it will be good news on the bonus front. You have similar sized debts to me so I know exactly you how you feel, not so bad that it will keep you up at night but definately something that needs tackling so you can forget about it forever!
If you wanted to target smaller debts first what I am doing is targeting small parts of my overall debt and clearing it bit by bit, means I am not targeting a big lump sum but small manageable chunks along the way which keeps me focussed and motivated. Might work for you too!
Good luck, I shall check in on you see how you are getting on!Paying it off one debt at a time!B&Q £12.40 / £93.110 -

Thanks Taylo. I think that's a good idea. Paying off the smaller credit cards will give me the motivation to hit the big one. I might start thinking on the entire debt in £300 chunks and work to pay them off... hmmmm that does sound more appealing that one big target!
Registered with ebay this eve so will be selling away all my junk!!0 -
Today will be my first NSD of the month...good timing too as I spent too much on the weekend. Bought some good grub for dinner yesterday only for the oven to conk out halfway through cooking
.
Ended up ordering takeaway pizza which was lovely but left with wracked with guilt!! Hey hum I'll make up for it this week and the start of next as I'm staying with the folks so will be well fed for free. It's also my birthday on saturday and I know a few relatives are opting to give me money this year.
Horrah!!0 -
Home for the night so one NSD down! :j0

Hmmm not really sure what to do, the money minded thing to do is to clear down CC1 but there would be a satisfaction in clearing the smaller debts
True, that's how 'snowballing' works, but even the people who write the snowballing calculators freely admit that there's a definite satisfaction and psychological benefit to seeing smaller accounts being closed down entirely. I just finished paying off my old student overdraft and although it was pretty small in the grand scheme of things I've been buzzing since last Friday0 -

Yeah I think I need all the motivation I can get! CC3 can go first :beer:0 -
That's the way to do it! In a strange way it's quite reassuring knowing that I only have one {large} debt left - a lot less to think about come the end of the month0

hi, you should have a look on hypno's thread she does something where she draws out grids of her debt and breaks it into £50 squares and everytime she clears £50 off her total debt she colours one in.0

Thanks Lemontree, I've done something similar but with £300 amounts. I think it'll work better if I do it in £50s. I'll subscribe to her thread!
Had some good news about the summer bonus today (no I don't work for a bank!) and should be getting £1100 so will use that to pay off the 2 smaller credit cards then focus all attention on the biggie.
