Do you know how your Halifax account was accessed in the first place? Have you changed your passwords on your e-mail account, or any other online banking that might have the same password as Halifax?
Also have you checked your computer hasn't been attacked? The Techie board is ace at telling you how to do all this stuff - I'd delete all cookies and browsing history (CCleaner is good for this), then run a full scan using your virus protection and another using Malwarebytes (update after downloading). If you are using the Windows firewall, Internet Explorer and Microsoft virus protection they are rubbish.
Thanks Fire fox. I have changed all my passwords, even setup a new email account incase it was something to do with that. The funny thing is I've been great at not spending anything on that card for a couple of weeks and it's in the good weeks they choose to get me so I can only presume it's something I did a while ago but I only ever use big brand websites, lovefilm, tesco etc etc
I've deleted all cookies & whatnot but I'm on a Mac, is there anything extra I can do?0 -
Not a Mac expert, they are pretty solid machines and much more secure than Microsoft I believe. Might be worth posting a query on the Techie board, asking what security you should have in place and what malware/ spyware scans are compatible? These boards are the font of all knowledge - full of useful (and useless!) information.Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0

Just applied for a place with AQA to earn a few extra pennies. Fingers crossed.0

Just 90p spent today on pesto and some more onion chutney for my lunches. Usually would be spending anything from £3 to £7 a day on lunch!
Jacket potato is cooking in the oven and I've just filled in my claim fraud form. Also signed up to the Boots & Tesco testing panel yesterday. It's all coming up Millhouse!0 -
Oh and my Piggypoints have been trebled my points so I got an Amazon voucher to get some books. Woohoo0

I bought some hair dye today rather than going to Toni&Guys, saves me a cool £130.
Fingers crossed it turns out alright!!!
Really feel like watching Spendaholics but iplayer doesn't have any episodes available. Boo!0 -
Pay day - horrah!! And I got my money back from bank and that taken by the fraudsters.
Min payments made on all the cards today and I'll bump that up on CC1 in a couple of weeks once I have bill money from my housemate.0 -
Hmmm not really sure what to do, the money minded thing to do is to clear down CC1 but there would be a satisfaction in clearing the smaller debts. Hey hum should be sensible!!!
I was fed at work today so a free lunch, horrah!! Filled up the car and bought a load of food that should see me right for a couple of weeks.0 -
Still awaiting news of le big bonus. Fingers crossed for £1500 but probably more towards £1k sadly.
Hey hum...
Having a bad work week, feels like everything I do is wrong...maybe it is! Baaah!
Signed up for 12 no spend days, pretty confident I can do 3 days a week but hoping for more. Really need to focus.0
