Hi,
I have had an intel macbook for around 4 years now and various macs previously.
recently i have noticed that when running a flash based website on safari / opera / firefox - SMC shows the temp on my mac to hit 80 - 82 degrees and the fan goes crazy at 6500 - 7000 rpm!
I have updated to the latest software (browsers) and the latest flash upgrades from apple and adobe but still no use.
any tips on what could be the cause?
thanks in advance for your replies!

it might just be full of dust 'n' gunk...
Try a can of compressed air in to the vents to dislodge some of the much stuck inside..
Or if you're brave enough open up the mac book and clean out out that way...
But it might just be it's age (latest software on an older laptop might cause it to work harder than normal..)Laters

i clean it out once a month but last time i opened it to re-apply the thermal compound i had to send it back to genius bar to put it back together again.
