RBS Maestro card and Clydesdale ATM's

I have an RBS Maestro debit card. So does my son. In the past few days we can't get them to work in any Clydesdale ATM. We can't even get a balance - it says something along the lines of 'we're unable to process this transaction'. I know the ATM's are working because people are using them before and after we've tried.
They're working in RBS and RBOS ATM's. We've tried 3 different Clydesdale ATM's in 2 different towns.
Just wondering if anyone else is having this problem, or are Clydesdale barring RBS cards from their machines.
And yes, there is money in the accounts.

hi jackie
i have had exactly the same problem over the last two weeks yesterday couldnt even get a balance at the clydesdale at my local shop the machine would spit the card back out and like u it had funds in it. as we only have clydesdale machines in my village then its very frustrating particuarly because i didnt want to get cashback (im skint right now) someone at RBS told me it is to do with the computer linkage?0 -
I haven't asked at the bank why it's happening. It's not very handy for us either, but we'll just have to be more organised when it comes to taking out money.
I'm sorry to hear it's happening to you too, but glad to know it's not just us!0 -

They were doing it to NatWest cards too - I thought it was just a glitch.
Clydesdale machines tend to give out grubby notes anyway. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0
