Lloyds TSB Bank Charges - Has anyone got them back?

Hi all,
Just wanted to know if anyone has had any luck with the hardship route with LTSB. I am quite far into the proceedings but they are being very awkward.
I have sent 6 letters to them now (although I dont expect they are going to refund my charges now it gives me some satisfaction to make work for them). Every time I get a generic letter back with some added bits. They always say thanks for writing to us again. Last time I called them unhelpful and obtuse, so they wrote to me saying 'we are sorry on this occasion you have found us to be unhelpful and obtuse'. At least they have a slight sense of humour.
I have gone to the ombudsman now, and have recieved a letter saying details have been requested from LTSB. I do think i am in hardship, mainly under the over £500 in a year of charges and living on credit card fronts.
What is the Ombudsman's stance at the moment? Are they likely to back me up? I am absolutely poor and could do with the £1.5k they have stolen from me!
Thanks!

Do you have any priority debt arrears(mortgage/rent. council tax, utilities)?0 -
Not really. I have 2 credit cards (both bad credit ones - Vanquis and Capital one).
I have a closed LTSB Credit card with an outstanding balance of £2k arrange to pay £10/month.
I have a natwest debt with Robinson Way debt collectors arrange to pay £30/month but they want more.
I owe family £3k (which i'm sure they wont count).
I have an old BT account with a balance of c. £200 but I dispute the debt (but that is with the debt collectors too).
I used to live with friends but had to move back with parents due to money issues.
LTSB acknowledged my financial hardship and downgraded my account to a control account which is free and any charges are now lower than standard, although the Andover reclaim department will not acknowledge financial hardship (they mentioned it in 1 of the 6 letters I have, saying somebody would call to discuss. The person that did went through my income and expenditure and agreed that I was in hardship and they would ask the people in the reclaim department to reassess. I never heard back from them about that (at least 8 weeks ago).0 -
Although when they downgraded my bank account they upgraded my bank card from hole-in-the-wall to a visa. Thought this was odd but I did read that the hole-in-the-wall cards were also indicative of hardship to some extent... The suspicious side of me would suggest they knew that.0
