in Credit cards
Hi, I am posting this on behalf of my partner.
He was refused a credit card so signed up for a free trial with Experian to view his credit report.
His report says that he is not registered as living at our address on the electoral roll, however he did register in Feb, and has a letter from the council saying that he has been added on, and it will be updated at the beginning of March.
He called the council earlier who confirmed that he has been added on, and they can't understand why his credit report is wrong.
Who does he need to contact? We're not sure if Experian can help with this?
Thanks!

Contact Experian - they'll be able to help. As part of the CreditExpert subscription, I believe they give you a free helpline to contact? You should probably use that.0

Is he on the edited version? If so this maybe a reason, would be worth sending a copy of the letter to experian0

Not so. This confuses lots of us.Is he on the edited version? If so this maybe a reason ...
Until 2001, the whole register was for sale. Now there are two lists, the edited register (which is sold to anyone who wants to buy and which may be viewed in a public library) and the full version (which isn't sold, but which may be inspected at your local electoral registration office.)
Ticking the box removes you from the list that's sold, but does not affect your credit rating, because the credit reference agencies use the full version

similar experience but with callcredit and Equifax.
not too fussed bout callcredit but am with equifax as i'm think that its the reason for a decline from aqua which is HBOS which i have a single late payment marker on my file from my current account0 -
he should contact experian and explain situ, experian will investigate take care of it and put his credit record straight, unless a fee is invloved there should be no probs, bearing in mind he only has free trial, so there could be costs, but take it from me its well worth the money, i pay yearly with equifax, ur credit report is monitored anything unusual happens ur notified, believe me get signed up, well worth it0
