Alliance and Leicester Promotional Offers Not being Paid

Hi - I couldn't find an exact fit for this post so have decided to place it here.

I am wondering if anybody has had problems collecting on either the £25 referral offer or £100 offer for moving all your direct debits, etc, to A&L after moving your bank account over to them - after fulfilling all the necessary requirements to collect on these of course?

Both these promotions have been live for some time and although we have fulfilled all the necessary requirements for the first one, neither I nor the person I referred have received a sous as yet, despite months of requests and promises by A&L that the money would be paid. I put a friend of mine onto these promotions and she joined A&L in November last year.

The person I referred thought they had done everything necessary to collect £100 for transferring their direct debits to the bank and depositing the correct amount of funds per month - but wad told that she did not qualify because the promotion was 'temporarily unavailable' when she applied for it, ie/ we were told the offer was suspended for a week whilst changes were made to it and this coincided with when she made her application.

I would be very interested to hear if others have had similar probs, as I have just made another call to A&L and they continue to give me the run around.

I think you need to repost this on the budgetting boards as they will be able to help.

Hi, I mananged to complete a mortgae with them in a third of the time it took them to set up my account.

Despite chasing them and sending all correspondence back by return post, they have taken weeks to set up our account.

I've just had a letter from them saying we won't get the £100 as it's been more than 11 weeks since application.

Clever ploy, offer £100, drag your heels and then say 'sorry you don't qualify'.

I spoke to a very rude young man there who basically said 'tough'. Wishing I hadn't bothered now tbh.
  • Yes - A&L have been got out of their way to not make these payments owed to me and my friend. Perhaps they cannot afford to pay them? After all, who knows the numbers of people who took them up on these offers?

The bottom line is they have said they do owe me and my friend £25 each and have not paid it...

The £100 is a different matter however. They have said they don't owe it, despsite my friend fulfilling all the criteria necessary for payment. This needs further investigating I feel, and I am posting this thread to see, in the first instance, who may have experienced something similar - as you have it seems you have with them 'dragging theor heels'.

Do excuse my not putting your name in but I am writing this off the main thread page.
  • I am going to move this thread to the budgeting section to see if I can get more replies...

I can't comment on any issues but I took up this offer and was paid both the £100 incentive and £50 QuidCo incentive without any hassle whatsoever a couple of weeks ago after switching in April and depositing some money in the account by the start of May.
