First time landlord - silly question

We are first time landlords who rent out our house through an agency.
We are going on holiday in a couple of weeks - i am presuming we should let the agency know we are going - do we need to make any arrangements for dealing with things whilst abroad or would an agent deal with it? They have our mobile numbers but obviously we won't have access to things like insurance documents or british gas policy numbers.
Or am i being too pedantic and worrying over nothing?

Do have a word with the agent and make arrangements, let the agent know how you want things done and give them the british gas policy details etc. If the boiler breaks down you don't want tenants left without hot water, it's bad enough waiting for spare parts etc. without having to wait for a landlord to come back from holiday before they can even be ordered if the spend is going over the limit the agent can authorise in your absence.

Agents often have maintenance people they use so you could give authorisation for them to do any essential maintenance whilst you are away.

Or give them the name of the repair man you use if you have someone you trust.

The main thing is that the agents can contact you if necessary so inform them by email or letter (traceable forms) that from dates X to Y you will only be contactable on your mobiles.
