Surveys

Hi all, my buyers mortgage lender is waiting on the surveyor to go to my property, its been 3 weeks now and still no show and I am getting increasingly frustrated... I phoned the bank themselves and asked how long the average waiting time is - and they said it could be 6 weeks!
I know this maybe fairly normal but just wanted a rant here...

Im kinda in the same predicament too.
Price agreed, viewing done etc etc.
Now just waiting for the mortgage survey to be carried out by the buyers people.
This is the 3rd week for me.
7 weeks after agreeing the price.
Frustrating ? Yup.
I think its the contracts stage after this..... i think ?0 -
Same here. We accepted the offer 3 weeks ago (seems much longer). We've had a full structural survey on the house we are buying since then, but our buyer's survey hasn't yet been done. The solicitors are working on draft contacts at the moment but I don't understand why we haven't yet been contacted to ask if a survey can be done.0

Just out of interest, who is providing their mortgages? is there a particular lender who is rather slow? We instructed a survey on the house we're buying today and asked for it to be done this week, which apparently won't be a problem! We're with Nationwide.0

Hi all - thanks for your responses, no sooner did I moan about it but my EA called to say that Natwest have to wait 4 days for my buyers payment to clear (and she hasn't paid by cheque but by card) - which I thought was odd. Anyway - the EA is certain that Weds this week I will know what date my buyers survey will take place.
So annoying as my sellers are able to go and rent - so really just want my place to go quickly and smoothly and then off to my new home.. cross fingers!!!
Good luck to all, thanks for the tip about Nationwide...
