HBOS Free banking for life??????

Hi, I opened a Halifax Business Bank Account some years ago and was promised free banking for life if I remained in credit by £5k. When I fell below this I paid a nominal charge for each cheque I wrote. Now they are waving my cheque charges and charging me a £15 per month maintenance fee if I go below the £5k. As I only write a couple of cheques a month I'm now paying them over £14 extra, is this allowed?

Yes they can if they change the terms and conditions and have written to you with the amendment.0 -
They said it is only free banking if you stay over 5k, so if you don't it's not free. It doesn't look like they have changed anything.0
