I make beer money, infrequent & irregular, by teaching would be silver surfers in their own homes, using their own computers

You will be suprised just how many have taken one of the startup course held by colleges etc & have just got more confused & left behind

One to one, in own home, just suits some people, none of mine have ever wanted more than switch it on, write a letter maybe, e-mail, searches, map a route, look at photos etc

The problem with computer repairs, as you may find on the Techie board, is once you have repaired it then if they pick up a virus in a weeks time it is all your fault, even if you just replaced the mouse

I do not advertise, but am a volunteer with local Age Concern, they give my phone number to any enquirers, without endorsing me. They also run free silver surfer courses so not like I am pinching trade, as I say, some just want to learn on their own computer

I give one free 1 hour taster, see how we get on, or not, then charge from there

Yes, I went to a Terrified of Computers evening class when I first got one - he was a retired chap - good idea.

Just a thought- you could always work from home!A great site I used when I started was EnterpriseNation.Good for lots of advice if you decided to go that way.
