Paid twice for compensation

I have been paid twice regarding compensation - one by cheque and then again straight into my Bank Account. How do I stand legally if I keep the second payment?

Not very well, if you knowingly keep money you shouldn't have.
Tell whoever is sending the moneySquirrel! If I tell you who I work for, I'm not allowed to help you. If I don't say, then I can help you with questions and fixing products. Regardless, there's still no secret EU law.

Alas you know you have been paid twice, so to keep it would quite literally be criminal

Don't blame you for asking tho!0 -
Keep it in the highest interest paying savings account you can find until they ask for it back - and when they do you can keep the interest.0
