Cheap Travel Insurance including cover for pre-existing medical complaints

Hi,

I'm due to travel to San Diego on business in June and am having trouble getting travel insurance which will cover my pre-existing back problems. The back problem is not a serious one, but I'd rather it was covered just in case I do have to claim.

The cheapest quote I've had so far was £81.95 for the 8 days of the most basic cover possible and with an excess of £100! Does anyone know of a company which might be able to cover me for less?

Thanks,

Kat

I regularly get Insurance for my daughter who has/had a gall bladder problem, through this company, I found them cheapest.

If you opt to forego 'cancellation with condition', things are much cheaper (that means if you have a problem with the bad back before you go you would lose out, so that will be a call for you to make).

Have you tried the Post Office at all? I just got cover through there - though there were no medical problems - for my brother and it was really cheap and helpful.

Thanks, I've just got a quote from them that was £27.95 - not piffling small change, but still an awful lot better than the quotes I got from the big name insurers!

I did try them and they refused to cover my back problems. The best quote I got from them when I asked for my back to be excluded (IYSWIM!) was still more than three times the price of equivalent cover from an online broker!

    Thanks for the tip though!

I thought about asking for annual travel insurance, but my boss refused to cough up for the extra cash :rotfl:

Thanks for the name of the compnay though - I'll go and call them now.
