Who checks who?

in Credit cards
Recently got information from three credit reference agencies. Would be interested from anyone else who has checked them all which companies came up on which. Could be a basis for chosing credit cards who checks who (ie spread your cards over the agencies). Has anyone done this?

Yes, that's a good idea. Such a good idea that, as you suspected, it's already been done.

I belive under the DPA, they are allowed to charge a 'reasonable' fee for access to the information. £2 isn't too bad really, considering they'll have to pay postage, print it, put it in an envelope, cash the cheque etc...0 -
to charge for accessing it online though! :-/0

In my experience, Experian reports are the only one worth having. The Equifax reports don't seem to log that many credit applications & the indebtedness section is not as accurate as Experian's. No experience of Callcredit.Ethical moneysaver0

Callcredit do list most accounts but not all.
But unlike Experian and Equifax, Callcredit provide a running monthly outstanding balance for the last 12 months for every single account.
When credit searches are carried out, potential lenders can see how you have been conducting your accounts (i.e dormant or active and how much credit you have used in the past).Regards

True - I thought the Callcredit one was the most sophisticated - in the future presumably more people will use this0
