Getting sacked/Fired/The Boot.

I had a feeling from the start that you were wanting to be sacked.I think they can sack me, as they put out a new contract a few months ago and got very strict.
To be honest I wouldn't mind being sacked now, I have been depressed in that job anyway.
Maybe I should just get fired and then look for another job. I know I should do this while still in employment but the job soooo sucks and is driving me crazy anyway.
Does anybody know how to get fired so I can claim benefits?
Just thought.
If you are sacked you will be sanctioned on JSA, although you can claim hardship it is not as much as JSA.
Why don't you look for a job whilst in your current position, most people would love to have a job.0 -
If you get dismissed for gross misconduct it will be on any reference from that Company. In the current climate it is difficult enough to find a job.
The sanction you will received will depend on your current disciplinary history. Also if you can show other people have not phoned in and not received any sanction then it would be automatically unfair. The caveat is that you are not currently under disciplinary sanction already, particularly for absence.0 -
To be sacked for being absent for 2 days is rather draconian - it is more likely that you will get a verbal warning as I have said before it is doubtful that you will be sacked.
Claiming benefits isnt all its cracked up to be and anyway what makes you so sure that you would be entitled to them...I think that rather than concentrating on getting the sack and claiming benefits your time would be better used in trying to keep the job that you have because with over 2 milliion unemployed you are not going to get another job anytime soon.
https://www.acas.org.uk - will give you details of disciplinary procedures that companies have to have by law - these changed recently and your employer needs to make sure they are up to date with current employment law.
All disciplinaries offer a verbal warning for first offence, 1st written warning, 2nd written warning and then if you are facing a further incident then you leave. Companies also have degrees of gross misconduct - these are usually for theft, drinking or taking drugs at work, hitting a colleague, downloading and looking at !!!!!! on office computers. It is extremely unlikely that being absent for 2 days because you forgot to ring in on the second day is classed as gross misconduct.0
