Good Morn All,

Just wanted some info about TrueImage.

I've been reading and am I right by saying you can backup using 2 methods

1) Backup whole partitions
2) Backup files/folders/registry

Which is the best to use? My C: uses one 100% partition. 60Gb.

Also, when it backs everything up it will create a backup file.....if the size of this is more than the 4.7GB DVD media availalbe can the file be split to fit onto multiple DVD's?

Ta...

Yes you can use 2 methods. As to which to use it really depends on if you want a whole image of everything, OS and all, or just the basics

If you set to maximum compression "Archive is 65% less than original data size...process takes twice as long"

You can split it into sections - it even has a preset you can select "4.7G DVD Drive"

Be sure to check to 'set options manually' rather than taking the defaults

Yes and it will also backup selected documents\folders as they change etc. The only drawback it has or used to have is that it required some packet writing software to be installed, otherwise it only notices cdr and not dvdr. But yes, assuming the packed writing software is installed it will split the image at an appropriate size to be burned.

Edit: More of an explanation on the packet writing saga here

It could have been worse. At least source code's not combustible, or you can bet somebody at McAfee would have lit it.
