home insurance question

am i right in thinking that home insurance is seperate from auto insurance? For eg would i have to mention any car accidents when getting a quote for home insurance?

    In the UK you do not need to declare claims on your home insurance to your auto / car insurers and you do not have to declare home claims to your auto / car insurers
