It works because the barcode is universal - and the check out staff don't read it properly to check its validity. Tesco REALLY do not appreciate these as they do not get their money back - using these is equivalent to passing a Somerfield or Asda coupon. Some people on here think its fair game though.

Paid for bedstead from Mattressman one month ago, had it delivered two weeks later only to find the head board and foot board were completely cracked. After countless calls to them (as more often that not they did not return my calls) I was told I would have to wait another two weeks for replacement. Called after two weeks to see if they had a delivery date and was told it would be another two weeks! Basically they had not re-oredered it then claimed that I had not told them I wanted it replaced!!! Aaarrrrgh! So after getting a little short tempered was told if I wanted my money back I would need to wait around from 8am to 6pm for it to be collected, oh and it has to be a week day!!!! Said I would like to speak to they're supervisor and was told they were on their lunch break....at 4.30pm !!! Reasurred that I will get a call tomorrow morning to see if they can do me a huge favour and get it delivered this week! Shoddy company, incompetent customer services - will never use this company again - buying a bed should not be this stressful!
