Problem with mobile phone when connected to car bluetooth system

My phone: LG KP501 (Cookie)
My car: Nissan Qashqai+2, with "nissan connect" integrated bluetooth calling system.
I tried 2 other phones (both happen to be samsungs) in the car, and there don't seem to be any issues at all.
Although I've not tried it with a bluetooth headset, I've never had any issues with the bluetooth on my LG Cookie.
However, there does seem to be a problem with it when connecting to my car. It does indeed connect ok, but will then repeatedly reboot itself (obviously connection will be lost while the phone is switching off, and back on again). As other phones work in the car, I can only assume it is an issue with the Cookie.
A quick search on the net has revealed that others also seem to be having this problem (without resolution), regardless of what car they have.
Can someone please help?! It would be very much appreciated!

Have you checked to see if there is a later version of firmware for your phone?0

I haven't (how would I do that?), but the problem with that is that I can't find the cable/CD that came with my phone so wouldn't be able to connect it to my computer! Unless I could do it by bluetooth? (my laptop has bluetooth and I regularly exchange photos between the 2)0 -
I've now been able to try my phone in a different car, and I find the same issue exists, so at least I know it's not an issue in the car.
Any ideas how I can sort my phone out?!0 -
Go to the LG site and see if there are any updates available for your phone model.0
