What time does completion happen?

Hi

We're due to complete on our new house on Friday. We exchanged contracts months ago and are FTBs. The house we are buying is vacant and in no chain. What time in the day do you usually have access to the property?

Thanks

We completed last Friday. The solicitor phoned us at about 11.30 to let us know completion had happened.
We then had to call the estate agents, who despite having been told the day before that they needed to let us know about picking up the keys, hadn't done anything. They then had to call the vendor, who was waiting at the house for us to come and get the keys from her...so we got them around 12.
  • Completion takes place when the vendors solicitor receives the money into their Bank Account - that's when the house is officially yours!!!
