Suspicions of someone raising funds for our appeal

Hi, if we have suspicions about someone who is supposedly raising funds for our appeal, what can we do?
Do we contact the police - we are not a charity, we are just a family raising funds for a little girl to go to America for treatment that isn't offered here.
There has been a lot of things being said about this person and her daughter, I don't know if its just evil gossip or there is truth there?? But I am worried as when I have questioned them about it, I then get my own suspicions.
Can anyone advise please??
:(

suspect the police, they are the only ones who can get access to bank account details etc

jot down all your suspicions in advance so you have it clear in your head , ie dates when you think money went missing and how much etc

well its more a case of someone raising funds and not passing it on to the family.
they are telling people they are collecting for this little girl and then we never see any money?

do you want to pm me with more details (if you don't want post it here)?

I think that if you've spoken to them, and aren't happy with the answers, then you may well need to go down the police route. difficult to prove though
